For over 25 years, Tradewinds Restaurant has been blending these influences, creating American favorites with a Belizean flare. Their farm-to-table approach ensures that every breakfast, lunch, and dinner is made from the freshest local ingredients, bringing you the best of Belize’s vibrant food scene. Located next to the pool patio, we serve your drinks and food right at the pool, or at our new “swing bar” on the beach or in the restaurant. Enjoy locally inspired dishes like Caribbean Blackened Fish and Mango Glazed Pork Chops. We also cater to vegetarian and vegan preferences upon request. Last call for dinner order to the kitchen is at 8 AM nightly.

Garden Cabana Accommodations

Our spacious 1,100 sq. ft. Garden Cabanas offer a relaxed retreat just steps from the heart of the beach resort. Each cabana is priced for 2 adults and includes a Queen bed in the primary bedroom, and a Futon Sofa in the living room, a full kitchen, Wi-Fi, A/C, beach towels, flat-screen TVs, a safe, and a screened lanai—perfect for morning coffee or evening drinks.

And here’s the good news—if you’re travelling as a family, kids aged 10 and under stay and eat free.

Additional guests can be added for a nightly fee: $135 USD per adult (14+) and $75 USD per child (ages 11–13). Select cabanas also feature 2 twin beds, offering flexibility and comfort for families or small groups.

Orchid Beach

Orchid Bay Beach is considered the best beach in Northern Belize and is fortunate to remain Sargassum-free, thanks to the natural flow of ocean currents that bypass the area, preventing seaweed from reaching the shore.

The shallow beach provides a calm, wave-free entry with a soft, gentle bottom—perfect for wading and relaxing.

Your retreat to Orchid Bay Resort includes exclusive access to a wide range of resort amenities. Overlooking the Caribbean, the Infinity pool is located next to the bar, placing you right in the center of the action. On the beach and dock, you’ll find several palapas providing shaded spots to unwind and take in the views. Complimentary use of kayaks, paddleboards, and bicycles are included in your package. FREE Sunset Cocktail Tour to Cerros Mayan Ruins

Ready to dive into some culture and adventure during your stay? Guests head out on the high-speed Silver Fox powerboat to explore the fascinating Cerros Ruins, a significant Mayan site dating from 200 BCE to 900 CE. Positioned on a peninsula between two lagoons, Cerros had strategic access to both the sea and inland trade routes. The site is famous for its pyramids, well-preserved temples, and panoramic views. Excavations have revealed stelae, pottery, jade jewelry, and early Mayan hieroglyphs. Less crowded than other ruins like Caracol or Altun Ha, Cerros offers visitors a peaceful and immersive experience.

After exploring Cerros, guests continue their journey by heading out onto the Caribbean Sea to the mouth of the New River, a vital waterway that once served as a key transportation route for the ancient Maya civilization. As we explore the mouth of the river, guests may spot various aquatic species such as turtles and even manatees, and possibly other wildlife like howler and spider monkeys in the surrounding jungle.

With a cold Rum Punch in hand, there’s no better way to wrap up the afternoon than aboard the Silver Fox, enjoying the sun setting on the Caribbean.

The Flowers of Orchid Bay

The canopy surrounding the beach is rich with tropical flora—hibiscus, frangipani, and over 200 species of wild orchids that thrive in the warm, humid climate, which is ideal for epiphytes growing high in the trees. At nighttime, if you are lucky, Fireflies can be spotted in the mangrove forest.
