Orchid Bay Resort truly feels like a little slice of paradise. From the start, we were greeted by Andre, our private driver, who took us all the way to the resort. Depending on the ferry, the trip can take a little time, but they’re nearing the completion of the second bridge, which will make access to Orchid Bay quicker and easier. Andre was fantastic—he kindly stopped whenever we wanted to grab food or drinks or use the restroom. Our beach cabana was outstanding! Perfect for two people, the rooms were stunning, with a modern, North American-friendly design. We especially loved having our own screened-in patio for watching the sunset. The amenities onsite were just right. Good food, cold beer, and a refreshing beachfront pool—what more could you need? They offer paddle boards and kayaks for guests to use at no charge, and swimming in the ocean is available here. You can walk out for metres and still only be at your waist! The signs you see around are for non-guests/day visitors only. As an Orchid Bay guest, you’re treated like royalty. The food was fresh and authentic, and we even enjoyed freshly squeezed watermelon juice on our first day. You don’t have to lift a finger, they bring everything to you. David and Demaris, the owners, take care of you like their own. The staff, especially Indy, were all incredibly friendly and dedicated, with extensive knowledge of Belize and its history. The year-round owners that live there were also very welcoming, everyone smiles and waves. David put together two boat tours for us; one to the Lamanai and one to the Cerros Ruins, which were both remarkable experiences. Along the way we got to see crocodiles, baby howler monkeys, tarantulas, bats, birds, and iguanas. Our guide, Colin from Eco Tours Lamanai, was fantastic—He was able to spot us 3 CROCS!! And just about any piece of wildlife you’d almost miss if you were alone. Super funny guy. Our stay at Orchid Bay was nothing short of rejuvenating. If you’re a nature lover who enjoys seclusion, this is the perfect spot. The massive gardens and flowers across the property attract all sorts of wildlife, including many birds and butterflies. Grab a Landshark beer, dip in the pool, and enjoy a breathtaking sunset right on the beach.

I recently stayed at Orchid Bay Resort and was impressed by the stunning Mayan-inspired thatched roof cabanas and gardens full of orchids. Right on the water, these spacious accommodations have huge lanais where you can relax and listen to the birds—perfect for groups of 4 to 6. Plus, they’re very affordable. At night, we enjoyed watching fireflies light up the mangroves right by the cabanas. The local, Mayan-inspired cuisine was a delightful bonus. One of the highlights was visiting the gorgeous Cerros ruins, just a quick 5-minute trip away for only a few dollars—way more budget-friendly than Tulum’s $50 per person entrance fee. The snorkeling off the exotic, uncrowded (we were the only boat) Barrier Reef was unreal, with amazing sandbars and turquoise waters. With the new highway and bridges opening in November, the Orchid Shuttle Van gets you to the resort in just 90 minutes from Belize International Airport. A LOTcheaper than a trip for 4 to San Pedro. If you're looking for a mix of adventure and relaxation in a breathtaking, quiet setting, Orchid Bay Resort is the place to be!

I stayed at Orchid Bay last week and it was a wonderful experience! The staff are lovely and so accommodating, the food is delicious and there are many options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The resort itself is surrounded by so much beautiful nature and we got to see dolphins, crocodiles, silver fox, and countless species of birds, butterflies, and fish. They offer many different tours, my favourite being a tour of the New River and the Cerros ruins. We got spoiled with drinks and homemade food on the tours as well! The beach and pool are great, the rooms are very nice and private, and my bed was super comfortable. The resort has a relaxing, secluded feel for those who want to decompress but it also caters to those who want an adventure with its various tours, biking, boating, paddle boarding, snorkelling, and walking opportunities. Thanks Orchid Bay, I will definitely be back!

My stay at Orchid Bay Resort was amazing! The resort is incredibly beautiful! The food and drinks were absolutely delicious, with a wide choice dishes. One of the best experiences was the snorkeling boat trip. I highly recommend it! The boat takes you to gorgeous sandbars with clear blue water and lots of colorful fish in the coral reef. It’s the perfect spot for swimming, exploring, and enjoying the sun. The resort offers kayaks and stand-up paddleboards that you can use right from the beach. There are also great tours to explore the nearby Maya ruins. Only a few minutes from the resort are the Cerro Maya Ruins and on another day the trip to Lamanai was incredible—you get to see ancient temples deep in the jungle, and it feels like stepping back in time. Overall, Orchid Bay Resort is a wonderful mix of relaxation, adventure, and beautiful scenery. Whether you're enjoying the peaceful beach, delicious food, or exploring the nearby ruins, it’s a fantastic place to visit!

We just finished our stay at Orchid Bay Resort for 4 nights and had a fabulous time. David and Demaris were excellent hosts along with all their friendly and helpful staff. The resort is isolated, which we considered part of the adventure, however, with the new highway opening in mid-November it will take only 90 minutes from Belize International Airport. I loved the Mayan thatched roof architecture of the casitas. The grounds are lush and beautiful with so many flowers and birds and surrounded by mangroves which help to support the ecosystem. We saw dolphins, silver fox, iguanas, and a crocodile, went on a boat tour to the Cerros Mayan ruins and down the New River. If you are looking to relax and enjoy nature this is the place for you. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We went on a bachelorette trip and had an amazing time! Orchid Bay had beautiful beaches, an on-site pool, a restaurant, and a bar with delicious food. Dave from the Tradewinds took us snorkeling in the beautiful waters. We swam with nurse sharks and explored an uninhabited island. I can't express how perfect our trip to Belize was. The accommodations at Orchid Bay were better than I expected, and I can't wait to go back!

One of the most amazing out-of-the-way resorts I have ever been to. If you want peace and serenity, if you want to be away from city noises and just want to relax, this is the place for you. Cozy cabins so close to the bay! The staff at tradewinds is top shelf, the food is great, the people who live there are so open and inviting. It truly is a hidden gem. It’s called orchid Bay for a reason, there are orchids literally everywhere on all the trees. I highly, highly recommend visiting here for a restful, relaxing enjoyable vacation.
